# Account types

With the introduction of off-chain logic, NBM initially envisioned two types of accounts: 

**Email Off-Chain, (and now WAX Off chain):** Transactions are instantaneous, and assets are held by the Battleminers system. 

**WAX On-Chain:** Traditional accounts with true ownership but limited by blockchain constraints (slow transactions, API errors, etc.). 

At the request of our community, who wanted to enjoy the perks of fast transactions offered by off-chain accounts while retaining the true ownership of their assets provided by on-chain technology, the NBM team has reworked its account strategy and is now offering more flexibility to WAX users (with the addition of WAX Off chain wallets mentioned above). 

Instead of being forced to perform a potential migration from on-chain to off-chain at some point in the future, WAX users can now choose to be either on-chain or off-chain, with the ability to switch at any time. If on-chain, assets remain in the user's wallet and are subject to traditional limitations (CPU, RAM, API). If off-chain, all assets are transferred and held by the Battleminers account with instantaneous transactions, leveling up, fusion, pack opening, and more. 

**IMPORTANT:** it is possible for WAX users to switch between off-chain and on-chain at their convenience.
