# GEN2

Generation 2 (GEN2) construction cards were introduced later during the development of NBM. They can be obtained by opening a second-generation construction pack. GEN2 construction cards are not necessarily better than GEN1 construction cards. They offer alternatives on how to play NBM.

There are only 4 different GEN2 templates which allow to boost the production of each resource.

**IMPORTANT:** GEN2 CONSTRUCTION CARDS CAN ONLY BE USED TO UPGRADE GEN2 CONSTRUCTION CARDS. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO UPGRADE A [GEN1 ](/nbm-shadow-depths/overview/nft-battle-miners-official-wiki/iv-nbm-nfts/nft-assets/construction-cards/gen1.md)CONSTRUCTION CARD USING A GEN2 CONSTRUCTION CARD.
