During the production of the third generation of clones for Shadow Depths Season 3, Arcadian geneticists decided to modify the prefrontal cortex of the clones, enabling them to interact with each other when in caves.
This concept led to the introduction of Player versus Player (PvP) interactions. The concepts behind this aspect of the game are explained below.
PvP is governed by a set of fundamental rules:
PvP only begins when a clone reaches level 20. A clone below level 20 cannot interact with other clones.
A clone of a given level can only engage with a clone within a 15-level range of its own. For instance, a clone at level 40 can only engage with clones having a level between 25 and 55 (40 +/- 15).
Clones must be in the same cave and on the same level to interact.
When interacting, clones have two options: Friendly or hostile (more information below).
After an interaction, a clone cannot encounter another clone for at least 30 seconds.
Each player can also instruct their clone to attempt hiding when another clone is close. This option prevents interaction regardless of the chosen behavior (Friendly/Hostile)
When preparing for exploration, each player has access to the following options:
Friendly: Heal other friendly clones by 10% when meeting them.
Hostile: Engage in combat with other clones, with a chance to steal/lose items in win/lose cases.
Hide: The chance to be spotted by another clone is divided by 5.
A friendly clone will only heal another clone if that clone is also set to the friendly interaction mode. On the other hand, hostile clones will attack both other hostile and friendly clones during encounters.
