# Experience

Experience reflects the knowledge the clone acquired through direct observation or participation in various events happening in the cave.

### Accumulating experience

Each clone can gain experience in two ways :

* **By killing monsters :** The higher the level of the monster is compare to the clone level, the more experience the clone will gain.
* **By completing a level :** Completing a level always grants 5 points of experience.

{% hint style="info" %}
A clone will stop gaining EXP from monsters 10 level lower than his clone level.
{% endhint %}

### Final experience output

#### Evacuation settings

Completing or failing a exploration mission can results in different EXP output scenarios base on the selected evacuation settings during the mission settings phase.

Depending on the above settings, you will earn either 50% or 100% of your [accumulated mission experience](#accumulating-experience). Those options can be on/off during the mission setting phase offering flexibility to players.

#### When is experience credited

Experience is credited when clones finish their mission exploration and return to their camp. If the clone gains enough experience, its level will increase, and the Corporate Leader will earn 1 skill point meant to be spend in skill tree.
