Each piece of equipment has a given lifespan called durability, which is influenced by when and how the equipment is being used. Poor management of the durability of an item can lead to its destruction.
First you need to understand the 3 basic durability components :
Current durability : represented by the green color and the 5805 value in the above picture, it says how much useable durability is left on your object right now. By fighting monsters in caves, you will see the green bar part becoming progressively red as you fight.
Current max durability : represented by the green + red color (6245 value above) or green only when your object is fully repaired, this is the maximum value your object can pretend to have.
Max durability : represented by the whole bar with the green + red + grey color. Grey shows the Max durability you have lost so far. In fact, every time you repair your object, it loose a portion a portion of it initial max durability permanently.
Each time a clone attacks using a range weapon, the clone's weapon loses 1 point of durability (even when it miss).
Each time a clone attacks using a melee weapon, the clone's weapon loses 1 point of durability only if it reach the target.
Each time an enemy attacks and hits the clone, one random item that the clone wears loses 1 point of durability.
If the durability of an item reaches 0, the object is destroyed. Backpacks don't have durability.
It is possible to repair any type of equipment using resources. This action affects the maximum durability of the item.
Every time a clone has to recover, the current durability of all equipped items (except the backpack) is reduced by 5% (3% with season pass).
The aforementioned concepts mean that each piece of equipment has a given lifespan, which needs to be carefully monitored. Equipment needs to be replaced or repaired when its durability is too low.
